Alice McCall voyaged into an underwater playground this collection, it was like watching the tides go in and out as the waves built up throughout the show. Playsuits strode down the runways as did ruffle edges all tonal in under the sea hues of corals, creams, white, navy and greys.

Sophie Roberts, hair director for ghd, worked her magic as always with tears in her eyes (nostalgically) this was her last show before she takes a bite of the big apple. “Who doesnt want to look like they’ve just got out of the water” Sophie Roberts told me as she went on to describe the feminine undone fashion girl she was recreating with a wet and glossy low slung pony tail. The key product here being ghd final shine spray.

The ‘Toni Tail’ from Toni Maticevski’s S/S 14 collection stems from ‘Grace Kelly goes to Japan’. Jayne Wild for ghd, gives us a 5 step guide on how-to:

All Photos: Zachary Handley for StyleMeRomy.com.
Hair: Jayne Wild for ghd Model :Julia Nobis (Priscillas) wears Toni Maticevski
1. Use the ghd eclipse to smooth out your hair.
2. Tease the root area with the ghd tail comb.
3. Take a section from the back of the head and bring the hair together into a tight ponytail, at the base of the crown.
4. Smooth out the top section and create another ponytail. Secure the ponytial around the existing one. This is called the ‘Toni Tail’
5. Gather the ‘Toni Tail’ together and twist very tightly then let it fold back on itself to create a tight ballet bun secure in place with pins and ghd final fix for extra hold.

You know when a show begins with Pierre Berge talking (in French no less) about Yves Saint Laurent the show is going to induce goosebumps. It offset the atmosphere perfectly with streamlined girls striding down the catwalk. His dresses showcased origami precision in the strong lines he used, which beautifully married the Grace Kelly meets geisha girl coif by Jayne Wild, for ghd, drawing attention to Toni’s proportion play.

It would seem somewhat sacrilegious to imagine Dion Lee’s collection set against any other backdrop than the Opera House. And what a sweet escape from fashion week madness it was, feasting on chef Guillaume’s Barramundi with pea puree & sipping martini’s with a haute hangout crew.

Get Kym ELLERY and I in a room together and conversation always turns into eyebrow raising banter. So when styling the ELLERY collection this season, the themes stayed the same; baddies, rebels, bandits, misfits, renegades. Here a documented look at this knock out collection.

It was so refreshing to see simplicity at its finest in breezy silhouettes and buttery lawn cottons referencing American Indian culture. Signature peasant blouses were a plenty as were maxi’s and relaxed short shorts all in earthy tones. Oh and did we mention that leather pinafore.
