All fun and no sleep

There’s always a new and fabulous hotel cropping up in NYC. Here are my favourites…

Anything but standard, if a building can be described as sexy I think the Standard is it.

Yep and gorgeous models just hang out the front. Love the fishtale braid, straight off a NYLON magazine shoot.

The Standard bar, perfect for sunset drinks.

The Jane is a magnificent looking hotel, old world and chic it’s straight out of a scene from Great Expectations.

Art Director (and tour guide!) Louisa Gent. Hold onto your shorts for summer ladies they had a huge following in the NY style stakes.

Soho House for great cocktails by the pool (to Australians its more like a bath but it does suffice)

Casting Director Melissa Woolford, working a timeless look aviators, Rolex and a G&T.

I Heart NY Shopping

Shopping in NYC. It’s something you can’t avoid, and why would you? Here are some new stores that have popped up recently, and some shopping classics.

Isabel Marant store 469 Broome Street (corner Greene)

Opening Ceremony, ACE Hotel has the best selection of hard to find DVD’s 1190-92 Broadway

Maison Martin Margiela store 803 Greenwich st.

Alexander McQueen 417 West 14th St.

Balenciaga 542 West 22nd St.

Hells Kitchen Flea Market west 39th st and 9th avenue, great vintage and jewellery finds.

Vintage shopping Ressurection, What Goes Around Comes Around, Marmalade.

My first port of call is always uptown to shopping mecca Barneys , then Bergdorf Goodman‘s shoe department.

Other fav spots to shop Kirna Zabete, Opening Ceremony, 31 Phillip Lim, Jean Yu Zara, IF, Oak, Erica Tanov, Stella Mccartney, Jeffrey, Curve.
