Maeve Dermody
My favourite things…
‘I really enjoy exploring new cities and inherited a love of maps. The magic effort that goes into them for someone else to discover’
‘I’m a big reader. At the moment it’s the classics, Portrait of a Lady and Middle March. My notebook is for writing poems and short stories. I’m never without my iPod, at the moment I’m listening to Fleetwood Mac and Middle East an Australian band’
‘The jewellery I wear has all been given to me by very special people. Rachel Ward, Director of ‘Beautiful Kate’ gave me the pearl necklace. Nicole O’Donohue the Producer of ‘Griff the Invisible’ gave me the bluebird pendant and I inherited my ring from my grandmother who was a performer amongst other things, she was a big part of my life.’
‘Oh and I always wear hats, this Mimco hat inspired the Director, Leon Ford, he wanted my character Melody in ‘Griff the Invisible’ to wear it. Although I never ended up wearing it in the film because the day we shot the scene I’d left it at home and had to wear another.’
Maeve is currently performing at Belvoir Theatre the Shakespeare play Measure for Measure and will appear in soon to be released film ‘Griff the Invisible’.
